How Can We Help?

Can I try PersonalRX without a long-term commitment?

How are medications packaged?

We offer a variety of packaging options and you select the type of packaging that meets your needs. PersonalRX Strip Packs are most popular. Strip Packs contain individualized doses of medication – with details printed on the label, indicating medications enclosed, date and time to be taken, and any special instructions. Along with the Strip Packs, other medications, such as inhalers, creams, and liquids are labeled and packaged separately – and shipped along with your chosen form of pill packaging. Discuss these needs with a PersonalRX representative when setting up your account.

Can you package prescription medications that I take on an “as needed” (PRN) basis?

Yes. We package “as needed” prescription medications separately and include in your scheduled delivery, unless needed sooner.

What about injectables?

How does PersonalRX pricing compare to others pharmacies?

Why is a prescription required for OTC items, including vitamins and supplements?

By law, a prescription is required because these OTC items are being taken out of original packaging and being included in adherence packaging.

While the nature of OTC items is that they are able to be bought without a prescription, camp medication programs, which help manage these items for use by minors, requires a prescription. OTC items can have contraindications with medications – and can be dangerous if dispensed to the wrong person. Our pharmacy’s medication management program helps camps properly dispense the right medication, to the right person, at the right time – including OTC items. By writing a prescription, a doctor is indicating that this is the right medication for your child.

Will your pharmacy dispense name brands or generics?

Unless the physician specifies “Do Not Substitute” or “Brand Only” – our pharmacy will dispense the generic. Many insurance plans will only pay for a generic.

If you do not want a generic, we ask that you notify your physician in advance. For OTC medications, our pharmacy will provide generics unless you specify a brand when making your selection. When you select a brand name OTC, our pharmacy will attempt to provide the selection, but may need to substitute a generic if the name brand medication is not available.

Can you package prescription medications that I only use on an "as needed" (PRN) basis?

Yes. We package “as needed” prescription medications separately and send them labeled with directions for administration.

If I take a different dose of the same medication every other day, can it be packaged that way?

Yes. It is important that your doctor provides a prescription written exactly how the medication is to be taken. Our pharmacists will label a prescription and set up for packaging according to the exact instructions of the doctor.
